Message from Fr. Con

Reflection for 5th Sunday of Easter 2021 (week beginning 2 May):

We have entered the month of May, the month especially dedicated to the Blessed Virgin Mary, our Mother.
Most appropriately, its opening day is dedicated to St. Joseph the Worker.
Since Mary is higher than all the saints as their Queen, it is Joseph who is the primary saint, the greatest saint to have ever lived on earth. (Michael the Archangel, meanwhile, is the highest angel-saint but no angel has ever lived on earth obviously).
The merry month of May (as it is affectionately known!) will hopefully be happier this time around.
Yet we must always be people of thanksgiving. Meister Eckhardt was a mystic German theologian of the Middle Ages. Perhaps his most famous saying is: “If the only prayer you ever say in your entire life is THANK YOU, it will be enough.” He has also memorably said: “THERE IS NOTHING SO MUCH LIKE GOD IN ALL THE UNIVERSE AS SILENCE.”
